The Company
Symph is a software development studio based in Cebu City, building products and platforms for clients across industries. During my 6-month internship, I was embedded within the design team — but my responsibilities extended far beyond product screens.
Aside from being a UI/UX Designer working across multiple Symph products, I was also part of the marketing creative team and served as the photographer for Symph's community events.
Selected Products
As a UI/UX Design Intern, I worked across multiple Symph products — designing landing pages, product interfaces, and visual systems from scratch. Here are the key products I contributed to:
Lesson Planner PH
Landing page + product page for an EdTech tool helping Filipino teachers build structured lesson plans faster.
Symph Engineering
Landing page for Symph's engineering arm — showcasing their technical capabilities and team culture.
AppGen
Landing page for an app generation platform — communicating complex features through clear visual hierarchy.
Slumber Stories
Landing page for a bedtime story app — designing a warm, inviting experience for parents and families.
Marketing Creative & Event Photography
Beyond product design, I was part of Symph's marketing creative team — designing social media content, event pubmats, and Facebook graphics. I also served as the event photographer, capturing moments from Symph's community events throughout my internship.
Tech Listens Events
Tech Listens is a monthly event organized by Symph, dedicated to exploring technology and how it helps industries. During my internship, I designed the pubmats and photographed each event — capturing the speakers, audience, and behind-the-scenes moments.
What I Learned
Symph gave me a front-row seat to how a real engineering-driven studio operates — and pushed me to grow across design, marketing, and documentation simultaneously.
🎨 Designing across product contexts builds adaptability. Each product had a different audience, tone, and constraint set — switching between them sharpened my ability to design with context, not just templates.
📣 Marketing creative is a design discipline. Designing pubmats and social content for Symph's brand taught me that persuasion, timing, and platform context are just as important as visual polish.
📷 Photography is documentation and storytelling. Capturing Tech Listens events wasn't just about taking photos — it was about preserving the energy, the speakers, and the community Symph was building.
🤝 Studio culture accelerates growth. Being embedded in a team of engineers, designers, and product people — all moving fast — taught me how to communicate design decisions, give and receive feedback, and ship work with confidence.
