Interview Query Hero

Interview Query helps data professionals prepare for technical interviews through practice questions, courses, and peer learning.

My role focused on improving conversion through clearer onboarding and pricing. The goal was to help users understand the product’s value earlier and feel confident before committing to a paid plan.

This work centered on redesigning the pricing page and the sign-up flow to reduce friction and increase revenue per user.

The Problem

Users were interested in Interview Query’s value, but the pricing page failed to clearly communicate it.

Key features were buried, long-term plans were not surfaced, and messaging didn’t align with user goals like “Ace your interview.” This created confusion, drop-off, and underperformance in revenue-related metrics.

Pricing Page Redesign

The pricing page was redesigned to reintroduce long-term plans (yearly and lifetime), surface core features above the fold, and align messaging with user intent — specifically around interview success.

These changes improved clarity and reduced friction at a critical decision point.

Sign-up Flow Redesign

The sign-up flow was redesigned into a guided, personalized experience. Users select their role, target companies, and seniority before seeing pricing, which builds a tailored plan upfront.

By making value tangible earlier in the flow, the experience increased user confidence and readiness to commit.

The Impact

The redesigns improved page-level conversion and shifted purchasing behavior toward higher-value plans.

Purchasing behavior shifted toward higher-value plans — yearly and lifetime tiers saw increased uptake.

These results validated that clear value framing and early personalization directly influence buying decisions.

Takeaways

💡 Pricing is part of the product experience. How you frame value, when you ask for commitment, and how you build confidence all shape user behavior.

🎯 Personalization increases willingness to commit — especially when users can see the product working for them before they pay.
